A propos de moi

Meet Yves Kalala

I’m Yves Kalala—a mission-driven leadership coach and higher education professional with over a decade of experience working across academia, international development, and community empowerment. I help people and institutions align un objectif qui a de l'impact, integrating strategy, faith, and cross-cultural understanding in every engagement.

My Journey

I was born in Lubumbashi, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where my early years were shaped by rich cultural diversity and the resilience of community life. Friendships with peers from Senegal, Mali, and Rwanda stirred in me a deep curiosity for other cultures and the dynamics of leadership across borders.

Due to political instability, I moved to Malawi in my teens—an experience that deepened my Christian faith and planted the seeds of my calling to serve, lead, and empower. My journey eventually led me to Canada in 2007, where I settled in North Bay, Ontario, to pursue a Bachelor’s in Social Welfare and Social Development at Nipissing University. Later, I earned a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Liberty University—deepening my understanding of Scripture, theology, and the role of faith in leadership and service.

Being one of the few people of colour in North Bay at the time, I learned to navigate complex social and cultural spaces with empathy and courage. These formative experiences continue to guide my inclusive, values-based coaching and consulting work today.
